In sourcing deadstock, vintage, and unwanted jewelry, K SOON’s mission is to create playful pieces that are both for and in support of BIPOC communities, serving as a reminder of the joy they deserve. 25% of all proceeds are donated towards charities and funds that actively work in supporting the safety, security, and well-being of BIPOC.
The sustainable jewelry brand is run by Amanda Poh, a second-generation Chinese Canadian designer living and working on the unceded lands of Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations otherwise known as Vancouver, BC. K SOON is a cheeky play on Amanda’s Chinese name, Ka-Soon (家順). The character ‘Ka’ is often used to represent the words family, household, and everyone, while ‘Soon’ means to go smoothly, with ease, and prosperity. Although the two characters aren’t typically paired together, Amanda views them as a harmonious way of living – one where we put care into our community, our land, and our processes, in knowing that we’ll be taken care of ourselves.
